Today a button was added to the Hello world app. and with it going to a specific website.
I still don quite understand all of the java code behind it that makes it tick, but i have a good idea.
I think it would be a lot easier if I had a 2 screen set up, this way I could make the view much wider & keep code that IS one line on one line
(ie not have 3 lines each w/ text relating to a piece of ode w/ the 3rd line having the semicolon that tells the program it is the end of that 'line')
But in any case as long as I have an idea why it does what it does & can duplicate it in the future I think I will be OK

Scroll View
OK for all those out there remember I am new not just to blogging but also to attempting any sort of development. Today I pushed myself to learn something before my books had it for me to learn - scroll view.
I have to dmit I took it for granted, after all I assumed so many apps used it it was just 'built in'. Until I ypdated my 'Hello World' to have about 80 lines of text & could not get it to scroll anywhere. Took some looking & reading but I figure it out. It may only be text but I now have all 17 weeks of the AZ cardinals schedule on my phone.
(That gives me 17 weeks to get enough figured out before I REALLY need to accomplish anything.)

Hello World
So my 'education' has officially begun. During the week, I have a book I will read as an intro to java. And one day a week I will work on android app development using a book I have. I am hoping to keep the java curve ahead of the android curve.
In java & the android books I am only at chapter 1, each with their own 'Hello World' Apps.
But My version is a bit different. I used Eclipse & the graphical interface to add some Cardinals data to the screen. This way the app can be 'debugged' on my handset, and my GFs so that we have a list of the Cardinals preseason dates, times & opponents. Hopefully I will be able to improve the app before we get to the real season.

Blog Creation
Today I created a blog. The purpose of this is, should things go as I see them going, be a place people can contact me and learn about things I am developing. Hopefully in the coming weeks i will add more information & learn to develop apps for android and maybe even get some in the marketplace. Stay tuned.
